What's the big flap about Dubai Ports World taking over the American ports operations of formerly British-owned P&O? Demagogic American politicians on both sides of the aisle are painting this as a National Security problem (heck, what isn't) but in reality it's a xenophobic one. In fact, given the appalling failures of security at American airports on the morning of September 11, 2001, we should be grateful that our ports will now be managed by two countries (UAE and Great Britain) that have done exemplary jobs at keeping terrorists at bay despite being major targets. This is one piece of outsourcing that shouold make Americans feel safer.
Oh, Ok, you're saying that it wouldn't possibly be easier for a Middle Eastern terrorist to infiltrate a UAE company than a US-based one? HA! Don't tell me-- you're not US born. Just a wild guesss.
